For suspense I chose these examples because they all make me feel like something is going to happen to them. They make it seem like what was said is going to lead to something bad. As if they are thinking that Indian island is a little bit of a suspicious place. I think that they think that they were invited there for a bad reason. For foreshadowing I chose these examples because they seem like they could have some importance in the future of the book. It seems like they will come back in the book and have some effect on the story
Jack - Good observations. You have found good examples of both foreshadowing and suspense. They are closely related as foreshadowing builds suspense. Notice how the chapters end; for the most part, the endings keep the reader interested so that he or she does not want to put the book down. I find it interesting that you think the characters have bad feelings about being on the island. That bad feeling contributes to suspense as well. Mrs. M 12-4-12
